Table of Contents – Installation & Configuration

When you write a long article on your blog, it can be hard for visitors to read everything and find the part they need. A Table of Contents (TOC) solves this problem. It works like a book index, helping readers quickly jump to any section.

The Probha template includes a powerful TOC plugin. It automatically scans your post headings (H2, H3, H4) and creates a clean list. Visitors can click any item to go directly to that part. It also helps SEO, because Google may show these links in search results.

Where to find the plugin?

To set up the Table of Contents plugin, follow these detailed steps:

• First, log in to your Blogger account and open your blog dashboard.
• From the left sidebar, click on the Layout option. This will show all the sections of your blog.
• Scroll down until you find the Plugins section in the layout.
• Look for the gadget named "Table of Content".
• Click on the Edit button of that gadget to open its settings.
• Inside the content box, you will see a JSON code. You can edit this to customize the plugin (like title, open/close state, etc.).
• After making changes, click Save to apply the settings.
• Finally, open any blog post with headings (H2, H3, H4) to see the Table of Contents working automatically.

Configuration Guide

This plugin uses JSON format for settings. You can change the title and default view. When you edit the gadget, you will see something like this:

Status

"status": true → Keeps the plugin active

"status": false → Turns the plugin off

Title

This controls the text shown at the top of the box.

"title": "Table of Contents" → You can change it to something like "Contents" or "This Post Includes"

Open Status

This controls whether the TOC is open or closed by default.

"open": true → The list is visible when the page loads

"open": false → The list is collapsed and opens when clicked
